Every party. Every time. 99% of the kids at the school are there because their parents WORK. At least make them in the afternoon so we can take off an hour or two early instead of smack-dab in the middle of the morning. That’s a half day for me. Which can’t happen very often. I hate the thought of my kids being the only ones with no parent there for a party or parade or egg hunt, but there’s not much I can do about it and truth be told, they’re not the only ones. Still makes me feel like crap. :-/

Honestly, there are only one or two parents that attend. I know it’s hard, but please don’t feel like the only one not there. Parents at 10a are the exception and not the rule! It is mind boggling though…
Our school must be an exception because there are always a TON of parents there. Maybe they work from home or in the area. Luckily Zac works about 5 minutes away from the school and is usually off on Thursdays, when the parties typically take place. So at least there is some parental involvement from us. :-/
If it helps, when I worked at a daycare we found it easier when parents didn’t go. We would only have one or two go, except maybe to the Christmas party. No kids ever seemed phased by it.

Oh I can totally see that being true! Whenever I go to a class party I always want to help, but I just end up feeling like I’m in the way. At the Valentine party one girl was upset that her parents weren’t there, and the teacher had a whole speech about how some mommies and daddies won’t get to come to every party because they are working to buy clothes and food and toys. It seemed to help. At least the teachers are hip to the fact that we work to pay their salaries, so we don’t get any grief for not being able to come.
I don’t ever remember parents being at school parties when I was a kid, maybe one or two but not a whole classroom full. Don’t worry about it Momma!

You know, I don’t remember a whole bunch of parents being at our class parties when I was in school either. Maybe it’s a generational thing. Hopefully we swing back toward the middle of overinvolved an uninvolved!

Some reasons why students want to be able to get their associate degree in business is because they are interested in the field and want to receive the general schooling necessary in advance of jumping right into a bachelor diploma program.
