Five Things Friday!

My dear sweet kittens, this has turned out to be a VERY GOOD FRIDAY.  First of all, it is a GORGEOUS day.  I feel like I look cute today.  It is Friday.  Good things are happening for us.  So YAY.  Let’s get down to five three things I’m enjoying this week.

Margaritas.  We are not really people who drink.  I will have a glass of wine every now and then at a party or something, but as a general rule we don’t have alcohol in the house and don’t really buy it when we go out.  We used to be semi-regular drinkers {as in maybe a beer with dinner or when we got together with friends for sporting events or whatnot}, but after we had kids it just kind of fell by the wayside.  No particular reason for that, it’s just not something we do anymore.  But at our last tennis match of the season on Sunday, we went all out with the food and someone broke out the margarita machine.  After completely dominating in our match, I decided to splurge and have a small little glass of margarita.  It was delicious.  I had forgotten how much I liked them.  Then we had our end of the season tennis dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and they had delicious looking margaritas on the menu so I ordered one.  It was a strawberry lime swirl margarita and it was heavenly.  I think I will start having them more often.

Business planning.  I have a new small business venture in the works.  In the next couple of weeks I’m going to be opening up a little shop to sell my crochet items to try to bring in a little extra cash for the holidays.  We are on a budget and I’d like to have a little extra for Christmas gifts this year.  I’ve worked out the name of my shop and now I am stocking items so they will be ready to ship and trying to come up with clever names for them.  Figuring out price points, shipping costs, how many different items I want to sell and how many of each to stock.  This is all new to me and it’s kind of fun doing this from the ground up.  Bonus:  I just made my first sale today to a coworker.  So be on the lookout for more news about this!

BATON BOB!  This was the highlight of my day.  Baton Bob is an Atlanta institution.  Known as the Ambassador of Mirth, he travels around the city in various costumes, often twirling a baton and blowing a whistle.  Today we had our fire drill, and as we were walking to our designated meeting spot on the corner of 16th and Peachtree I saw him there, pole dancing on the lightpost dressed as a devil and shaking a red pompom for all the was worth.  I literally jumped up and down and clapped and squeeeeed.  I have been working in Midtown for six years and this was the first time I had a chance to get a picture with Baton Bob, so of course I jumped on it.

Best.  Day.  EVER.  He chatted with us for a little while then went along down the street to spread mirth to the rest of our building occupants.  I seriously felt like I was meeting a celebrity.  I am SO glad that we had that fire drill today!

And I’m running out of time on my lunch hour to type this, so you only get three things today.  Have a great Friday, you guys!
