Yesterday I went to pick CJ up from school today as usual. The Young Toddlers afternoon teacher leaves at 5:30, so they move the remaining little guys into the larger room with the last few older toddlers to play until everyone’s parents come get them. So I stopped in the YT room to get his daily sheet and I saw that one of his teachers had left him a Happy Gram. He usually gets one once a week, so this was not anything unusual. This Happy Gram, however, brought tears to my eyes. It read:
CJ is such a great friend! During outside time, everyone was getting water and so when I handed the cup to CJ, instead of drinking it, he saw/heard one of his friends say “wa-wa” and so he gave his friend his cup of water and waited for me to give him another. Way to go, CJ! Keep it up!
My boy can SHARE! He puts others FIRST! Admittedly, this is not my strong suit. I have always struggled with a “what’s in it for me” attitude, and I have tried to not pass this trait along to CJ. I am so proud of him. Even though he is only a baby, he put his friend’s needs before his own. I love him so much.
