So, I think I'm the only who a) is not going to Blogher this year, and b) doesn't really care.  I'm sure it's a good time and informative, but blogging is just a little hobby to me.  I've been doing it for so long that I can't imagine not blogging in some form or another, so I continue to do it.  If I can brighten your day, make you laugh, or hook you up with a prize or two and provide exposure for some great people and companies, then I've done my job.  So, I'm going to join the "I'm not going to Blogher" blog hop.

Here's how to play:

  1. Answer the questions below on your blog and then link up that post in the linky that will at the bottom of this post.  You will find the linky at ToBeThode or Musings of a Marfan Mom but you only need to link up once as it will be identical information.
  2. Grab the button for the No-Go BlogHer party and place it on your sidebar during the duration of the party.  (If you have any problems doing that on your blog, let them know and they would be glad to help).

Here are the questions we want you to answer:

  1. When did you start blogging? I started blogging in 2002.  My first blog was on Diaryland.  Then I moved to LiveJournal, then Blogger, then Wordpress, then back to Blogger, and then back to Wordpress, and now here I am at my own domain hosted by the always wonderful Kelly @ Twenty70Hosting.
  2. Why did you start blogging? At first, it just seemed like the cool thing to do at the time.  I like to entertain, and what better way to share my hilarity with the world than through a blog?  Blogging helped me work through some tough times and make some great friends.  It has allowed me to keep in touch with old friends and share the goings-on of my pregnancy and child's life with far-away family and friends.  And I feel like I am part of a community of people who are in similar places in life and can identify with things that are going on in my life.
  3. What is one thing you are going to do this week that is WAY cooler than going to BlogHer? Well, I'm going to look for some new running shoes so that the Mister and I can start really training for our half marathon in February.  And we are also going to go to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to take photos of CJ for the Mister's portfolio.  And just so we can have them.  We'll just be spending time together as a family, which I always find preferable to doing anything else.
  4. Share a post that you think says a lot about you or is your favorite.  (share the link in YOUR post so we all can see). In Which the Cat Gets an EnemaThis was a really fun day, let me tell you.

So that's it!  I'm headed back to link up my post.  Are you skipping Blogher this year?  Join the fun.

  1. Let me know how the Botanical Garden goes. We keep talking about going, but I'm just not sure…

    • My only concern is that it is so stinking hot. We are going to try to go early in the morning, but when I get in my car to head to work at 7:15 and it's already 80 degrees? Does not bode well for a cool Saturday morning photo session. I've never been to the Atlanta BG, so I'm pretty excited about it other than the heat!

  2. Hey I found you via the No-Go BlogHer blog hop.

That's awesome that you are going to train for a half marathon. I'm currently attempting to complete the C25K program in hopes of running my first 5k in October. Would love to run a half someday. Good luck to you!

    • Welcome! The Mister and I used to run all the time. We've done several 5ks, but only walked the ones we've done after having the baby. I'd like to get back in shape, though, and I find that having a goal or a certain date really helps me get my butt in gear. Good luck with your 5k!

  4. You are not the only one! I am home…..guess what? I have never had a desire to go.

    • I had never even heard of it until 2009, I think. And then I was like, huh? A conference about writing a blog? Strange. But I guess it makes sense. People go to things for their hobbies all the time, why not blogging?

  5. Thats amazing ,training for a marathon! Good luck! Stopping by to say hi from the No-Go BlogHer Blog Hop!!
