Gloriousity.

Is that a word?  If it’s not, I just invented it so all usage of it must pay homage to me.  And a small fee.

Last night, for the first time ever that I’m aware of, CJ put himself to sleep.

As in, went into his crib awake at 9:00 (after I tried for 45 minutes to get him to fall asleep), laid there looking around for a few minutes, and then shut his eyes and went night night.

AND SLEPT UNTIL 5:15 THIS MORNING.

I swear, I feel like I could take over the world today with my trusty sidekick Pinky.  CJ has been sleeping better lately, but the falling asleep on his own coupled with the full night of sleep is just simply wonderful.

I really hope this new skill sticks around.  It would be awesome if I knew I could just lay him down and he would fall asleep.  No more creeping to the crib with a baby in my arms, scared to make even the tiniest wrong move for fear of waking him.  Although I’d be more thrilled if he would continue to sleep all the way through the night.

But no matter, what, we’ve had a really great first year with our boy.  Sleep, no sleep, ear infections, fevers, rashes, tantrums, milestones, smiles, giggles, words, crawling, cruising, starting to take his first steps, and a million poopy diapers.  He’ll be one year old next Thursday.  It’s been a whirlwind, but hands down the best year of my life.

Man, I love that kid.
